YouTube is a wonderful way to get to see some of the original video’s that broke through during the golden age of MTV, but you will have also noticed while searching for one to watch that some the quality just isn’t quite up to scratch when compared to newer videos.
YouTube is now addressing that. The company will be upgrading a large number of music videos they have online to support high definition.
Both YouTube and Universal Music Group have announced that they are to upgrade over 1000 videos to high definition and releasing them through to 2020.
The first 100 videos getting upgraded will include videos from artists such as Tom Petty, Kiss, the Killers, Lady Gaga and Lionel Richie.
One of YouTube’s permanent fixtures when it comes to videos is Billy Idol, he shared his thoughts on the upgrades as six of his videos will be getting a touch of digital enhancing.
Idol said: “It gives these videos a chance against the modern high-quality definition. And I’m forever that age in these videos – it’s kind of fantastic.”
