As we reported last week, Weezer released their self-titled covers LP. Well, following the massive amount of buzz that followed, “The Teal Album” is on the way to a seriously solid chart position.
Billboard, has announced that “The Teal Album” is now projected to enter the top ten on the latest Billboard 200 album chart with a very very healthy 35,000 album units earned. Keep in mind, this is only the album’s first full week of chart activity.
The album was available for chart placement last week and landed on Billboard 200 chart at number 47 even after its surprise release. The album however only had only one day of sales/stream activity that was counted, hence the low debut.
It doesn’t stop there, there is a really good possibility that Weezer’s chart success will continue with the March 1st release of their other self-titled album (aka: “The Black Album.”) So far two tracks have been streamed via social media and you can hear “Can’t Knock the Hustle” and “Zombie Bastards” below:
