It took 10 years plus but Tool finally shared new music with their fans at the Welcome To Rockville festival this past weekend (May 5th).
The band’s last album ‘10,000 Days’ was released in 2006, but over the weekend the band premiered two new songs – ‘Descending’ and ‘Invincible.’
It’s expected that both tracks will be on the band’s new album, and if the latest teasers by the band are any indication, hopefully, it will be sooner rather than later
The band will be headlining Download Festival in June alongside the likes of Slipknot, Def Leppard and Smashing Pumpkins and we’re hoping they will debut further material on the back of an already released album, WE HOPE.
Maynard James Keenan said in February last year, that “Words & Melodies 100% DONE on all but 1 [track]” for the album.
He has also hinted that the extended wait for the album is down to his bandmates’ indecisiveness. He said: “I like to release records and write things a little more quickly than those guys like to write,” adding “Their process is very analytical.”
The clock is ticking and the fans are waiting…
