Well, finally we have a good news story that involves Slipknot.
The RIAA has announced that three of the band’s singles: “Wait and Bleed” taken from their 1999 release Slipknot, “Before I Forget” from the bands 2004 release Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses) and “Snuff” from 2008’s All Hope Is Gone, have all sold over one million units and therefore are now certified platinum.
After a pretty rough few weeks, this news has to be a welcome change for the band, these are the first of the band’s songs have earned platinum status and now join the list of their biggest sellers along with 2014’s “The Devil in I,” that was certified gold.
Slipknot is also on track to release a brand new album on August 9th. This will be the follow-up to their 2014 release .5: The Gray Chapter.
In related news, Slipknot made the announcement on Monday that the band’s percussionist Chris Fehn was now officially out of the group. This came as news had broken the week earlier that he had sued his former band members over financial irregularities within the band.
