Thom Yorke To Debut A Classical Piano Composition

-

Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke’s “Don’t Fear the Light,” his debut classical piano composition will air on BBC Radio 3 for the first time this Sunday, April 28th.

Don’t Fear the Light” was premiered in Paris earlier this month and was composed for the acclaimed French piano duo Katia and Marielle Labèque. During the premiere, Yorke also played some other new material, a new song called “Gawpers.”

We also learned that the Paris premiere was the reason why Yorke failed to show at last month’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony. Only Radiohead guitarist Ed O’Brien and drummer Phil Selway were there for the induction ceremony.

Yorke has certainly stepped up his work outside of Radiohead, last year he released a score for the movie Suspiria. This was also the Radiohead singers first soundtrack. He has also been hard at work on a new solo album, as a follow-up to his 2014 album: Tomorrow’s Modern Boxes.
