We’re getting more and more of an understanding of how the new Black Keys album will sound. The Ohio duo has released details of their new, and ninth album Let’s Rock.
The album is set for a release date of June 28th, and singer/ guitarist Dan Auerbach said of the new effort: “When we’re together, we are The Black Keys, that’s where that real magic is, and always has been since we were sixteen,”
Drummer Patrick Carney explained: “The record is like a homage to electric guitar,” adding: “We took a simple approach and trimmed all the fat like we used to.”
Let’s Rock also features the bands previously released the track “Lo/Hi,” as well as the track you can hear below called “Eagle Birds,” which is also now available as a digital download.
The Black Keys will launch a North American headlining tour in support of the new album, and joining them on the trek in September will be Modest Mouse.
In related Black Keys news, drummer Patrick Carney married his longtime girlfriend, singer/songwriter Michelle Branch last weekend.
