Strat Superstars: Jimi Hendrix

Jimi Hendrix purchased his very first Fender Stratocaster from New York music store Manny’s Music in the summer of 1966.JIMI HENDRIX SQ

Of all the Strats he played, his white “Woodstock” guitar is perhaps one the most iconic of them all. When you think of Woodstock, you can’t help but automatically see Jimi doing what he did best, blowing people’s minds with his insane guitar playing skills and experimental sound.

After he died at the tender age of 27, his guitar—truly a piece of rock history—was purchased and now resides at Seattle’s EMP museum. Microsoft’s Paul Allen was believed to have paid in excess of $2 million for it. Worth every penny!
