Stereophonics singer/ guitarist Kelly Jones is hitting the road again for another solo tour. It has been over a decade since he released 2007’s ‘Only the Names Have Been Changed’ but as of June 1stin Edinburgh, he’ll be back on his lonesome. Jones has said he’ll be playing a set mixed with both solo material and 22 years’ of Stereophonics music, wrapping the tour up in Nottingham on July 3rd.
Jones explained to NME that: “I’ll be performing some old songs, lots of songs I don’t normally do, some new songs, songs that have inspired me and stories that have inspired me. The tour is about overcoming things and moving on from obstacles and building strength from that. I am looking forward to performing with some new musicians and creating some beautiful moments.”
It has been two years since Stereophonics’ 2017’s ‘Scream Above the Sounds,’ but recently shared a new song called ‘Chaos From The Top Down.’ The single was a one-off and was sung from the perspective of a 15-year-old boy who’s just been shot.
Jones told NME about the track, Jones explained: “It’s based on a true story that happened just outside my street. It’s happening everywhere. I’ve always written about what’s going on around me or within me since ‘Local Boy In The Photograph’ in 1996.”
