Springsteen and Madonna top 2016 Tours List

The largest grossing tour results are in and by far Bruce Springsteen & the E-Street Band is the biggest ticket seller of 2016, with the Queen of Pop, Madonna, not far behind.

The Boss tops the chart on Billboard’s list of the top grossing tours so far this year.

The numbers are based on reports from between November 10th, 2015 and June 6th, 2016.

Springsteen and his band came in first during that seven month period. His shows amassed a small fortune, bringing in $135 million with $1.1 million paying ticket holders over 45 shows.

Runner up Madonna also made a nice chunk of change, but Springsteen’s tour beat out Madonna’s by $11 million, with her bringing in $124 million with 741 thousand ticket holders at 58 of her shows.

Beyonce comes in at third place with a very respectable $97 million with 783 thousand tickets sold for a mere 18 shows. Very impressive numbers that show her making $5.4 million per show compared to Springsteen’s $3 million and Madonna’s $2.1 million.

Veteran artists are prominent in the chart including: the Rolling Stones at #4, David Gilmour taking the #7 slot, and Iron Maiden at #8.

As far as promoters, Live Nation claimed the top spot making almost double the take of second place AEG Live.
