Slash and Paul Stanley Star in New Electric Guitar Documentary


Here at Rock My World, we love music. And somewhere in that music we love, for the most part, there is a guitar involved.

In a new documentary film called Turn It Up, it’s the electric guitar that is covered in no uncertain terms.turn sq The film delves deep into the history of the electric guitar, and also covers the passion that professional and amateur musicians, collectors and guitar designers have for the instrument.

Shot in high definition, the documentary film is both a mixture of stunning photography, killer musical performances and fantastic, in-depth interviews that examine the love for the instrument.

The film is narrated by Actor/musician Kevin Bacon, and features appearances and interviews with, Slash, Paul Stanley, John 5, Jerry Cantrell, Robby Krieger, Nancy Wilson, Steve Lukather, Jeff “Skunk” Baxter and many more music and guitar greats.

Turn It Up will be available on both DVD and Blu-ray. As well as including the full Robert Radler directed feature-length film, it will also include a packed bonus disc featuring extended interviews, mini-documentaries on RKS Guitars and Seymour Duncan, Robby Krieger noodling on his guitar, and a performance by Jeff “Skunk” Baxter from the film S.S. United States: Lady in Waiting.

Look for Turn It Up arriving on Jan. 22 via 71st Street Entertainment. You can currently pre-order the film via Amazon.

Check out the trailer below where guitarist John 5 reveals: “When I went on my honeymoon, not only did I take my guitar, but I took my guitar tech too.” As well as a host of amazing musicians, the trailer poignantly ends with late blues legend B.B. King proclaiming, “I’m gonna do this until I die, folks.”
