It wasn’t all bad when the Rolling Stones had to take a break from their latest tour. Ronnie Wood took to canvas and has just unveiled five brand new paintings of the group he has finished during the band’s hiatus.
As of today, the prints will be available to purchase online as limited edition prints. One that really stands out is a huge Picasso-like painting that Wood has called “Abstract Stones.”
Ronnie explained: “I call it The Picasso Stones. It’s my interpretation of Picasso’s painting The Three Dancers,” adding: “Looking at the original, I was inspired to do my own take featuring the boys. I did a few versions and each one was slightly different and more honed than the last. I had great fun doing it.”
He continued: “Picasso did his own take on a lot of artists but I bet he never thought no one would ever do a take on him. I hope and think he’d be flattered, but also a bit shocked and pleasantly surprised at my take on his work.”
As for Mick Jagger, the veteran rocker had a successful operation in New York to correct a potentially life-threatening heart condition.
