Pink Floyd’s Roger Waters has revealed new information about his upcoming solo album. The record, which is set to be titled ‘Is This The Life We Really Want?’, will be Waters’ first solo rock album in over 25 years.
Roger Waters is one of the UK’s most prolific songwriters, and is responsible for creating some of the greatest rock and roll albums in the history of popular music. Waters released his last solo album ‘Ca Ira’ back in 2005. The record was a concept album consisting of an opera in three acts. Prior to ‘Ca Ira’, Waters most recent ‘rock’ record ‘Amused To Death’ came way back in 1992. The Album peaked at number 8 in the UK, and was supported by the singles ‘What God Wants, Part I’, ‘The Bravery of Being Out of Range’, and ‘Three Wishes’.
In late 2016, Waters confirmed that he would be teaming up with Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich to work on new material. The 73 year old has now announced that he will be releasing a brand new record titled ‘Is This The Life We Really Want?’. The album will consist of twelve tracks and feature a number of guest musicians including Jonathan Wilson, Joey Waronker, Guy Seyffert, Roger Manning, and Lee Pardini. It is set for release on June 2.
As well as conventional CD and digital releases, the album will also be made available as an 180-gram vinyl LP. Waters previewed the album artwork via twitter on April 20.
