Last we heard from alternative singer-songwriter Regina Spektor was in 2012 with her 11-track album What We Saw From the Cheap Seats. Needless to say, it has been a long wait for her upcoming follow-up seventh studio album Remember Us to Life.
Earlier this summer, the soft-spoken artist sent out a tweet officially announcing a record release date for Friday, September 30, 2016 through Sire Records.
Having already debuted two tracks from her new collection of works (“Bleeding Heart” and “Same Bill$”), Spektor has set forth into the world with yet another one of her lulling, poetic piano ballads.
“Black and White” is an airy tune with the songbird’s usual endearing tone singing out in exuberant passion about lost love.
“On this record I extra-loved experimenting with all of the string arrangements,” she told an interview with EW this past July, “and we have everything ranging from a small trio to a full orchestra. Recording the full orchestra was one of those great, incredible feelings.”
Remember Us to Life is also available for preorder on her official site.
