Queen: One Night in Bohemia Hits Theaters March 7th

It has been announced that a recording of rock gods Queen’s Christmas Eve 1975 tour finale at Hammersmith Odeon is to be screened in March for one night only.

The movie will show at various cinemas across the UK. Queen: One Night in Bohemia will be screening at 200 different cinemas across the country on March 7th from 7pm, in conjunction with Fathom Events.

The concert, which for some music aficionados is considered to be one of Queen’s finest, was the final show on the band’s sold out A Night At The Opera album tour. The original footage first appeared on the BBC music series, The Old Grey Whistle Test in 1975.

In an interview with Rolling Stone magazine, the Old Grey Whistle Test host Bob Harris said: “Christmas Eve 1975 marked an important moment in the history of the Old Grey Whistle Test and Queen.”

“The band were in party mood at the Hammersmith Odeon that night and no wonder. They had already spent the best part of a month at the top of the UK singles chart with the sensational ‘Bohemian Rhapsody,’ the video for which had instantly redefined the presentation of music on TV. They were at the peak of their powers – confident and stage sharp at the end of a barnstorming UK tour. I donned top hat and tails to salute and introduce them before they played one of the best sets I had ever seen. It was an incredible night but it was more even than that. It was the moment Queen became superstars.”

Singer Adam Lambert who is taking over vocal duties for the band will join Brian May, Roger Taylor and John Deacon whilst touring Europe this summer starting at Rock In Rio in Portugal on May 20th.
