It looks like the members of Queen will be looking for a semi-permanent place to stay in the Vegas area. The band are about to start their residency at the Park Theater at Park MGM in Las Vegas.
Queen announced the residency via the bands website, they will play a 10-date “limited engagement” at the Park from September 1st till September 22nd. The general public can snag tickets for the show from May 11th, but fan club members will be offered earlier access to a special pre-sale via email.
The band, that now consists of founder members Brian May and Roger Taylor, and new singer Adam Lambert, are chomping at the bit to do the shows. Brian May said of the residency: “We’re ready to take on the ultimate challenge … to dazzle Vegas!” Roger Taylor added: “looking forward to rocking the Strip” for the series of shows — dubbed “The Crown Jewels” — with their “audaciously and phenomenally talented” singer.
As for singer Adam Lambert, he said: “I’m so excited to help share ‘The Crown Jewels’ with the Strip,”
Here are the current date set for Queen’s “Crown Jewels.” Sept. 1, 2, 5, 7, 8, 14, 15, 19, 21 and 22, and show-time will start at 8pm.
The bands biopic ‘Bohemian Rhapsody,’ is due for release later this year, and with the Vegas run looming, it looks like yet another busy year ahead for a band that has been on top of their game for almost 50 years.
