Phil Collen Leaves the Def Leppard Tour

The tour has only just kicked off but there are already complications for the Def Leppard camp.

Journey and Def Leppard have just kicked off their co-headlining North American tour on May 21st, but after only a handful of shows, Leppard have lost their guitarist Phil Collen.

Fans of the band learned of his temporary departure via the bands official website. The reason stated was that Phil had “unexpectedly returned home for a family emergency.”

So who has stepped in to take his place? Guitarist Steve Brown of the band Trixter. The band released this statement: “With Phil’s blessing our friend, Steve Brown, will be joining us on stage until Phil is able to return. On with the show!”

As of now, there is no official word on when Collen will be returning to the band and tour, but as soon as we have word, we’ll be sure to let you know.
