paulmccartney8Paul McCartney is reissuing his 1989 album ‘Flowers In The Dirt’. A special deluxe edition of the record is due to come out on March 24 and will feature a number of never before heard demos and b-sides.

‘Flowers In The Dirt’ was Paul McCartney’s eighth studio solo album. It featured a number of musicians whom had been put together by McCartney is preparation for his huge 1989 tour ‘The Paul McCartney World Tour’. Some of the musicians who featured on the record include Average White Band’s Hamish Stuart, The Pretenders’ Robbie Macintosh, drummer Paul Wickens, Chris Whitten and McCartney’s wife Linda. The album also featured contributions from Pink Floyd’s David Gilmour.

The record was huge hit in the UK, peaking at number one upon its release. It also charted at number 21 in the US, a vast improvement on 1988’s ‘CHOBA B CCCP’. The album was supported by the hit singles ‘My Brave Face’, ‘This One’, ‘Ou est le Soleil?’, ‘Figure of Eight’ and ‘Put It There’.

McCartney has shared a rare demo of the song ‘Twenty Fine Fingers’ in support of the upcoming reissue. The song was co-written by Elvis Costello whom also performs on the recording. Costello actually helped McCartney write a number of tracks for the album, many of which are set to be featured on the deluxe edition.
