Now that’s an endorsement! Noel Gallagher has said that the new Stone Roses album puts the band in the same mindset it had when the band recorded its classic debut album, The Stone Roses.
The ex-Oasis man first started dropping hints about the band “blooming” last year. Gallagher recently bumped into Roses’ frontman Ian Brown at a local supermarket where he learned about the band’s new music and believe it or not, chocolate shower gel.
Gallagher told NME, “I am very excited, for them mainly. They’re going to play some new songs. I bumped into Ian in a supermarket recently. He was buying chocolate flavoured shower gel. This is not a joke. He leant and said ‘have you tried this?’ and I said of course I hadn’t. He swears by it, says it’s amazing. And before it turned into a photo shoot with everyone and their camera-phones, he was telling me how excited they are by it all. He said it was like they were making their first record again.”
Ian Brown said of the new album that there are no words to describe the new record. But he also said it’s “glorious.”
In addition to the Stone Roses Manchester headline shows, the band has gigs lined up in Dublin, New York and Japan, as well as a headline slot at T In The Park in London.
