Some of music’s heavyweights including Nine Inch Nails, R.E.M. and Death Cab for Cutie are doing their part in the raising of money for a new youth writing initiative. They are auctioning off setlists in order to raise cash for the program.
The program itself is called Setlists for Young Voices and was created by novelists Nick Hornby, Dave Eggers, and Michael Chabon.
The aim is to raise money for organizations that include London’s Ministry of Stories and the International Congress of Youth Voices gathering in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
The donated R.E.M. and Death Cab setlists are both signed and the list of other artists involved in the program is pretty impressive and include: The Who, Patti Smith, My Morning Jacket’s Jim James, Rush, The Lumineers, Def Leppard, Young the Giant, Wilco, and The Pretenders.
If you fancy owning a nice piece of rock n roll memorabilia, the donated setlists are now up for auction, and bidding will be open until May 2nd.
