Pink Floyd fans got far more than they bargained for when they attended Nick Mason’s Saucerful of Secrets gig on Thursday night at New York City’s Beacon Theater
Fans got a seriously special treat when the band was Mason and his band was joined on stage by non-other than Mason’s former Pink Floyd bandmate Roger Waters.
Waters took to the stage and joined the band to sing lead and play gong on his song “Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun” taken from the bands 1968 album A Saucerful of Secrets.
The band on tour with Nick Mason consists of Spandau Ballet guitarist Gary Kemp, longtime Pink Floyd and David Gilmour touring bassist Guy Pratt, guitarist Lee Harris, and keyboardist Dom Beken. The tour itself is based around the music of Pink Floyd’s pre-Dark Side of the Moon days.
The Mason and Waters reunion was actually caught on video by someone in the audience and we have that clip below:
Nick Mason’s Saucerful of Secrets will end its North American tour in Washington, D.C. on Monday night.
