Nineties girl group The Spice Girls have reunited and are already recording new music. A demo track titled ‘Song For Her’ is rumoured to have leaked online over the last couple of days.
It is the second piece of evidence that suggests the girls are getting the group back together after a video featuring Emma Bunton, Melanie Brown and Geri Horner was posted online last week.
In the video, the trio thank their fans for supporting them for over 20 years and hint at a massive ‘party’ that they will be hosting in the near future. This revelation, coupled with insider rumours seems to suggest that the group will be performing at a huge 20th anniversary show in London’s Hyde Park sometime next year.
The new demo was picked up by UK newspaper The Sun who have dubbed the track the ‘perfect pop’ song. The paper went onto report that the song is “deep, with the lyrics talking about how Geri, Emma and Mel have at times felt they have lost their Spice identity due to the pressures of being mums.”
Here is a sample of the those lyrics: “Wipe up your tears of doubt you have been crying, lift up your dreams feel like you’re flying, never forget the girl is the woman you are.”
Emma Bunton is said to have acknowledged the authenticity of the song but doubts that it will be officially released. She appeared on Heart Breakfast stating: “You know, it is in the papers today.” “You know, us girls love creating stuff. We went and had a laugh in the studio. It’s not a single, it’s just we were creating.”
It is still unknown as to whether fellow Spice Girls Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice) and Melanie Chisholm (Sporty Spice) will be joining the rest of the band, as they do no feature on ‘Song For Her’. However, fans would definitely expect a full line up for any live performances in the future.
