Neil Young Loses his Home to the California Fires

The wildfires that are currently sweeping across California have claimed the homes of many celebrities and musicians alike. News has it that Neil Young and Limp Bizkit front-man Fred Durst have apparently lost their homes to the fires over the last few days.

Neil Young reported on his Archives website that he had also lost his house in the California fires. Young also took aim at Trump for not doing enough to tackle climate change, saying: “Imagine a leader who defies science, saying these solutions shouldn’t be part of his decision-making on our behalf. Imagine a leader who cares more for his own, convenient opinion than he does for the people he leads.

“Imagine an unfit leader. Now imagine a fit one. Look around.”

Also, in an Instagram post (that has since been deleted) Durst posted a picture showing his face photoshopped on to Steve Martin’s character from The Jerk with the caption: “When you wake up and your house has burned down, but you were able to salvage your chair and thermos and paddleball.”

Young and Durst are not the only musicians that have been evacuated because of the wildfires that continue to ravage California. As of now the fires have left 31 people dead and over 200 still missing.

Adam Jones of Tool went to social media to say that he and his family are safe, but added: “Thank you for all the concern love and support. This is crazy and heartbreaking. God bless all those affected by these horrific wildfires.

“I hope our home survives. If not, it’s just stuff and I have my best friend Korin and our two boys. Safe and sound.”

Donald Trump has come in for some serious flack for his comments this weekend regarding the fires. He suggested that the fires were because of “gross mismanagement of the forests” and even threatened to cut federal aid as a result.

Guns N’ Roses front-man Axl Rose tweeted regarding Trumps social media rant, and Rose didn’t hold back: “Actually, it’s a lack of federal funding that’s at the ‘root’ of the purported forest mismanagement,” he said, adding:

“Only a demented and truly pathetic individual would twist that around and use a tragedy to once again misrepresent facts for attempted public/political gain at other’s expense.”
