Mumford & Sons, Kanye West, and Ellie Goulding will all contribute music to a new project called Metamorphoses. Metamorphoses is a new album that has been curated and produced by the Mumford & Sons keyboardist Ben Lovett in collaboration with non-profit organization, Global Citizen.
For Metamorphoses, all of the contributing artists will create music/songs based on the lyrics garnered from crowd sourcing from around the world. For those of you interested in submitting lyrics, you can do so via the Global Citizen website through March 31st.
Ben Lovett said in a statement: “The artists involved in this project are some of the most genuine artists the world has to offer. Artists like Kanye West, and The National are doing something globally important that is touching people down to their DNA. And these masterfully creative people are going to be interpreting incredible submissions from people across the globe.”
Aaron Dessner of the band The National added: “We are very excited to explore the creative possibilities of the Metamorphoses project, setting the words of others to music and bringing communities together to fight poverty. Global Citizen is doing very important, pro-social work and we are honored to be able to contribute to it.”
The album is set to feature 12 tracks, with more artists and a specific release date that will be announced later this year.
