Not your average cover band, Metallica’s Kirk Hammett and Robert Trujillo are part of what is perhaps the most all-star cover band ever.
The band, which is called The Wedding Band, has some other noteworthy musicians that include Ugly Kid Joe’s Whitfield Crane and former Queens of the Stone Age drummer Joey Castillo.
The group has been formed for a one-off show that they’ll play on July 26th in Richmond Hill, Ontario at the Cosmopolitan Music Hall, inside the gigantic Cosmo Music instrument superstore.
So, what about the setlist? Apparently, The Wedding Band will be belting out classics by AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Billy Idol and more. As for Hammett and Trujillo, well, they often play around with covers during the regular “Doodle” segment of Metallica’s live shows. In Kansas earlier this year, the pair performed a rendition of “Carry on Wayward Son” by Kansas, and in the past even played Prince’s “When Doves Cry.”
