Painter, poet, and shock rocker Marilyn Manson tickled the world with talk of his upcoming 10th studio album in a July 2016 interview with Ryan J Downey at the Alternative Press Music Awards.
At last, the goth lord has finally announced the official release date for his next collection of work titled SAY10 for February 14, 2017.
The new record serves as the follow-up to Manson’s 2015 The Pale Emperor, and includes collaboration with friend and LA-based film composer Tyler Bates who has worked with Manson on a number of projects in the past.
On what fans might expect, Manson told Rolling Stone, “It’s not very much in any way like The Pale Emperor. The people who have heard the new songs said it reminded them of their favorite parts of Antichrist Superstar and Mechanical Animals but with a new, different approach.
“It’s pretty violent in its nature for some reason,” he continued. “And it’s not emotional in the same way. It’s got a chip on its shoulder. I enjoyed doing it. I can’t wait for people to hear it. I think they’re going to be quite surprised.”
Manson will star as the murderous barber Thomas Dinley in the third season of WGN’S supernatural series Salem, which will air on the network Halloween week.
