Ace Frehley is as famous for his Les Paul as he is for the make up he wears on stage night after night. During the 70s, and right up to now, the Kiss guitarist used that same Les Paul to fire rockets out of it, and crank out tunes like, ”Rock And Roll All Night” and “Strutter”.
Frehley’s axe of choice during the 70’s was usually a Cherry Sunburst, three-pickup Les Paul Custom. The guitar, the pickups, the band, and the over the top look, epitomized the glam-rock excess of the ’70s. To compliment all that, Gibson produced a run of 50 hand-aged Ace Frehley “Budokan” Les Paul Custom guitars, and all were signed by the man himself. Plus, a further run of 100 hand-aged guitars and 150 guitars treated in Gibson Custom’s Vintage Original Spec (VOS).
Offering everything you’ve come to expect from Gibson Custom artist replica guitars, the Ace Frehley “Budokan” Les Paul Custom is a painstaking recreation of Frehley’s modified Les Paul Custom, based on intimate examination of the instrument’s current condition.
