It seems we can’t get enough of the late Motorhead frontman and founding member, Lemmy. Therefore, in great news for memorabilia and rock fans alike, a Lemmy action figure is to be reissued this summer.
The action figure was originally released in 2008 as the first piece in LocoApe’s Icon Figure series.
Due to be released again in July, each of the six-inch tall articulated figures will include strap accessories, a microphone and stand, a Motorhead logo plate, and one of four variations of Lemmy’s instantly recognizable Rickenbacker bass guitars featuring real strings.
Lemmy, who celebrated his 70th birthday on Christmas Eve December 24th, unfortunately learned only two days later that he was suffering from an aggressive form of cancer. He died two days later, on December 28, at his home in Los Angeles.
On it’s initial release in 2008, Lemmy joked to Artisan News that it didn’t live up to its name, saying: “The thing is, it’s an action figure. I said, ‘Are you gonna put a dick on it then?’ They said no, so I said, ‘Well it’s not gonna get much action then is it?’ Bad name for it, right?”
Full details are available at Entertainmentearth.com where the 6-inch model will be available for pre-order and is priced at $29.99.
