‘La La Land’ Leads The Way At BAFTAS 2017

baftas1The nominations are in for the upcoming BAFTA Awards Ceremony. There have been a number of groundbreaking films over the last year; however, Damien Chazelle’s ‘La La Land’ is being tipped to take home the biggest prizes after cleaning up at last weeks Golden Globes.

For many actors and directors the BAFTAs are second only to the Oscars, and lifting one of the prestigious British awards can often make a huge impact on their careers. Unlike the Oscars (where the bookies can sometimes pick a clear winner months before the event), the BAFTAS can be completely unpredictable.

This years ceremony is set to be another star studded event and will take place on Sunday January 12 at London’s Royal Albert Hall. Despite fierce competition from a number of films, critics are predicting that ‘La La Land’ and ‘Nocturnal Animals’ will take home most of the major awards.

‘La La Land’ (which stars Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone) is one of the most hyped movies of the last few months. It has so far grossed over $85 million worldwide and has picked up a number of prizes including six Critics Choice Awards,  seven Golden Globes and two Hollywood Film Awards.
