For those of you out there wishing for more of The Killers, we have good news.
The band has revealed that on October 7th it will be celebrating the 10th anniversary of its 2006 breakthrough album Sam’s Town by rereleasing the album with a very limited edition.
The Sam’s Town reissue will be limited to just 5,016 copies. The remastered album will be available on two LPs with the addition of two previously unreleased bonus tracks: a demo of “Peace of Mind” and “Read My Mind (Pet Shop Boys Stars are Blazing Mix)”.
To coincide with the album’s reissue, the band has announced that it will also be celebrating Sam’s Town’s 10th anniversary with the Sam’s Town Decennial Extravaganza, set to be held on September 30th and October 1st at the Sam’s Town Hotel and Gambling Hall in the band’s home town of Las Vegas.
The extravaganza will feature The Killers playing on both nights as well as an “expert-led” tour of Sin City. The tour will take you through, “iconic spots in the band’s musical history…and locations in the city that shaped and defined each band member.”
The Killers drummer Ronnie Vannucci said of the album and the event: “The closest thing I can get to the fountain of youth is playing Sam’s Town at Sam’s Town.”
New material by The Killers is in the works; the band is currently working away on its fifth studio album.
