Pop singer Katy Perry has added a number of new dates to her current European tour. Perry is set to release her fifth studio album ‘Witness’ on June 9, and fans will be hugely excited to see the ‘Roar’ singer appear live, following her incredible performance at One Love Manchester.
One Love Manchester was a brilliant opportunity for pop musicians to give something back to their fans and help raise money for a fantastic cause. It also provided a perfect platform for a number of artists (many of whom have new records out this year) to showcase their talents to an international audience. Katy Perry was one of the stand out acts of the event, and her thrilling performance will no doubt provide a huge boost for the singer, on the eve of her upcoming European tour.
Perry may be fantastic to watch live; however, her commercial performance has wavered a little over recent weeks. Her most recent studio album ‘Prism’ featured some of the biggest hit singles of her career, with both ‘Roar’ and ‘Dark Horse’ peaking at number one in the US.
In contrast, Perry’s first three releases from upcoming album ‘Witness’ have experienced a modest chart performance, and garnered mixed reviews from critics. Lead single ‘Chained To The Rhythm’ gave the album a solid foundation when it peaked at number four on the Billboard Hot 100 back in February. Her recent singles ‘Bon Appetit’ and ‘Swish Swish’, charted at 59 and 46 respectively.
