Jamie T has released a pretty risqué music video for his new song ‘Power Over Men’. The song was previewed on the ‘Annie Mac Show’ on BBC Radio 1 earlier this week and is already being hailed as one of his best tracks in years.
Jamie’s new album ‘Trick’ is out on September 2 and is fast becoming one of the most hyped UK albums of 2016. Both of Jamie’s first two records ‘Panic Prevention’ and ‘Kings and Queens’ have been certified Gold in the UK and the London born singer has become somewhat of a cult hero.
His third album ‘Carry On The Grudge’ peaked at number 4 in the UK album charts back in 2014, yet in many ways was something of a disappointment compared to his previous releases. Now it seems like Jamie is back with a vengeance after dropping two fantastic singles from his upcoming album.
The latest offering ‘Power Over Men’ is a dark, grimy track with some killer punky guitar riffs and classically cutting lyrics. Jamie dedicated the song to the recently disbanded Maccabees during a Radio X interview saying “Thank you for all the music over the years”.

The singer has also been outspoken in the press this week speaking about his own battles with anxiety.
Dealing with mental health issues has always been a focal point of Jamie T’s music. His track ‘So Lonely Was The Ballad’ even features a sample of an anxiety disorder tape. In an interview with the Guardian he explained: “It’s more acceptable to talk about it now than it was then. People were a bit iffy about it. I continued to speak about it on other records and things and people tended to be like: ‘What, you still going through that?’ People get weirded out by it. But it seemed natural to me to talk about it.”
