England’s very own Jake Bugg is back and is treating his fans with his new single “On My One” from his forthcoming album.
“On My One” is available by way of a free download by heading over to Bugg’s official website. Bugg describes the new album’s music as “hip-hop inspired and groove-based.”
The upcoming album will be Bugg’s third; his debut album Jake Bugg was released in 2012, and his sophomore record Shangri-La arrived in 2013.
With the release of “On My One”, Jake has also been added to the line-up for BBC’s Radio 1 and Annie Mac’s special broadcast that will happen at London’s O2 Forum next week on February 29th.
Last year, Bugg told NME that he had worked with Beastie Boys’ Mike D on his third record and that the upcoming effort is “entirely self-written and almost entirely self-produced.”
Bugg explained that the difference between this forthcoming album and his prior efforts are the “grooves”. He added, “There’s songs people can actually dance to. I’ve been listening to [UK station] Smooth Radio. Those songs from the ’70s, there was a warmth about them that you don’t get in pop nowadays.”
The 21-year-old also earlier stated that his new material would be ”darker”—a fusion of ”cool hip-hop elements” and guitars.
