We love to keep our ears to the ground here at Rock My World, so you can imagine we were all ears today after Mick Jagger was recently spotted with Jack White at a show in Nashville, according to Ultimate Classic Rock. Our sources tell us that the two stars were seen hanging out together and listening to Canadian rock duo Death From Above 1979 perform live at Third Man Records—Jack White’s recording studio that also serves as a store, lounge, and offices for the record label.
This recent sighting of the pair again sparked rumors that began as early as 2009 about Jack White working with the legendary band on their first studio album since 2005’s A Bigger Bang.
In a recent Rolling Stone interview, the magazine quizzed Keith Richards with the news that White had recorded some tracks with Richards. While Richards hesitated from commenting directly on White’s role, or even his potential role, with the band, he did go so far as to admit, “I enjoy working with Jack. I know Jack pretty well. He’s a lovely player.”
Hey look, musicians happen to run into each other all the time, but the fact that these two particular musicians were spotted at the same show can’t help but fuel speculation about the Stones and the White Stripes front man working together.
In related news, last week front man Mick Jagger joined pop star Taylor Swift onstage in Nashville for a duet on the Stones classic “Satisfaction”. It looks like Jagger is making the most of his time in the Tennessee capital. ROCK ON.
