Following the tragic death of one of rock’s true hellraisers, Lemmy Kilmister, there have been many tributes that have been given to the Motörhead frontman. Out of those, the one that screams Rock ‘n’ Roll is the tribute his favorite whiskey brand has given to the wild-man.
Lemmy’s favorite tipple, Jack Daniel’s, has unveiled a special single barrel whiskey to celebrate Lemmy’s iconic band, Motörhead.
In a fitting tribute to the band, the Atlantic City Bottle Company said of the select whiskey it “celebrates 40 years of the loudest rock band on the planet.”
The drink, a special limited-edition liquor, is usually reserved for a “Jack Daniel’s Master Distiller” who explores the “nuances of whiskey from a single barrel.” This particular blend is described as “dark, oaky, but still some corn and sweetness with that signature Jack smooth charcoal smoky finish.”
Jack Daniels encourages fans to “Raise a glass and celebrate with Motörhead and their ol’ friend Jack.”
If you fancy purchasing the special blend, a bottle of Motörhead will cost you $99. Unfortunately, as of now, it is currently sold out. You’ll have to keep your eyes peeled for the next batch, apparently coming in the next week or so.
There is also a Change.org petition aiming to have the iconic “Jack and Coke” drink renamed a “Lemmy.” For fans wanting to push this forward, you can sign the petition here.
Never to be forgotten, check out Lemmy and the boys live at the Hammersmith Odeon bringing home “Bomber”.
