The ’90s were an interesting time for music. Rock and pop ruled the airwaves, and whether you were one of those people who loved it, or even hated it, just like any era, there are people who want to relive that nostalgia today.
Radio and TV were more than just a breaking ground for boy bands and acts like the Spice Girls; Power pop and rock pop bands were also out there creating new genres of music and breaking musical boundaries.
Recently, Limp Bizkit fans fell prey to pranksters who posted on social media that the band was playing a show at a Dayton, Ohio, Sunoco gas station. A crowd of around 9000 “Bizkit heads” showed up to see the show. The ridiculous rumor spread like wild fire, thanks to the extremely gullible sharing it on Facebook and other social media outlets, despite the Dayton police tweeting it was a hoax.
In fact, the rumors got so out of control and spread far enough that it made national news and Fred Durst, Limp Bizkit’s frontman, eventually took to Twitter to put an end to the show rumors.
Although somewhat cruel to Bizkit fans the post also spawned a number of brilliant ’90s band invites all over Facebook.
