Frontman Billie Joe Armstrong of pop punk group Green Day appears in a new trailer for this year’s comedy-drama Ordinary World.
The film marks as Armstrong’s first leading role in a film, set for theaters this coming October 14th. It will also be available on digital HD and On Demand.
Written and directed by Lee Kirk (The Man Who Invented The Moon), Ordinary World was originally premiered at The Tribeca Film Festival this past April under the title Geezer, but was renamed after a song Armstrong wrote for the movie.
Ordinary World is a black comedy following the story of a father and husband named Perry (played by Armstrong) who left behind his dream of rock and roll superstardom to start a family. When his wife forgets his 40th birthday, Perry finds himself celebrating in reunion with his old band mates. He heads out into the night to experience a series of comedic, murky, and heartwarming events that bring new insight to mind.
It stars Selma Blair, Dallas Roberts, Fred Armisen, Kevin Corrigan, Brian Baumgarter, Chriss Messina, and Judy Greer; and also features a cameo by female rock legend Joan Jett.
