For most Gorillaz fans, being that it’s only February, the thought of new material from the UK outfit is like Christmas coming early. Last year, Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett started teasing fans with intriguing pictures on Instagram, and then last month the band dropped a new political track “Hallelujah Money” on January 19th; the first track from the semi-fictional band in six years.
The rumor mill has been hinting about a new album being in the works for a while now, but founder members Albarn and Hewlett have kept pretty quiet about any details. That is until now.
New artwork has been appearing on social media again and
Consequence Of Sound reported that fan recently ran into Damon Albarn. The fan claimed that the singer revealed to him that the Gorillaz album is now “finished” and that he and the rest of the band members are now in rehearsals preparing for a new tour.
Also, Seye Adelekan who plays with Albarn also posted a picture on Instagram from the rehearsal room suggesting that finally something really is happening with the Gorillaz.
