The ever feuding Gallagher brothers have been involved in yet another spat on social media this week.
The latest feud started after producer David Holmes gave a statement back in May about the then upcoming Noel Gallagher album. Holmes said of the album:“people are going to be surprised by it” and described it as “fun”.
These comments apparently struck a nerve with former Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher who took to twitter not long after the interview had been published and posted: “FUN is that what you call it your nothing but a YES man remember that GINGE”. He went on to post: “FUCK OASIS” and upload a picture of his brother with the tagline “Potato”.
There appeared to be no instant reaction from Noel until a recent interview in which he addressed his brothers distasteful comments. Noel told the Toronto Star: “That’s so unlike him. I guess it was about him staying relevant. If you’re him, what else is there to tweet about? How his spring/summer collections are doing for his clothing firm? I’m not sure that warrants a tweet. Should he ever climb out of the “where are they now” basket and grant you an interview, ask him. I’m sure you’ll get a typically fucking surreal answer”.
He went on to claim that he hadn’t been on speaking terms with his brother in over 20 years and gave a pretty clear (if not a little harsh) reason why. Noel said: “We’ve not been on speaking terms since 1996. I tolerated him up until he stopped being able to sing. When singing becomes shouting – I switched off then. I was just amassing money.”
The older Gallagher brother then went on to give his classic scathing opinions about global politics, particularly questioning the moral conduct of current US Presidential candidates Donal Trump and Hillary Clinton.
This all comes a week after stating that: “99 per cent of the people are thick as pig shit” when discussing the British public. Nice going Noel.
