Flying High

He’s making music again! Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds released two new songs last week. The single “Lock All The Doors” and the B-side, honky-tonk surprise, “Here’s A Candle (For Your Birthday Cake)”.

“Lock All The Doors,” is straight out of the Oasis songbook. It has Noel’s songwriting style written all over it. The B side, “Here’s a Candle (For Your Birthday)”, on the other hand, is a totally different animal. Close your eyes, and imagine yourself in a honky-tonk bar; you’re close to how this piano pumping style track sounds. It’s a million miles away from The Beatles style that made Oasis a household name. It is more reminiscent of (dare we say it) the Rolling Stones.

The A side, “Lock All The Doors” was premiered by the group back in July, but fans had to wait until now to get their hands on the track.

The band’s album, Chasing Yesterday, which came out in February went to No. 1 on the U.K. album chart and peaked at 35 on the U.S. Billboard 200. The album has been the fastest selling record of 2015 in the U.K. and was the best-selling album on Amazon for this year back in April.

You can purchase the seven inch version of “Lock All The Doors” limited edition yellow vinyl from the band’s website.
