Mick Fleetwood’s Blues Band Hits The Road

Fleetwood Mac hit the road hard this last year or so. And to that end, most of the band will be taking it easy this summer and for the rest of 2016, but Mick Fleetwood has other ideas.

Come fall time, Fleetwood will be returning to the road with the Mick Fleetwood Blues Band including bassist Lenny Castellanos, keyboard player Mark Johnstone, and guitarist/vocalist Rick Vito fleet sq— Vito also did a stint in Fleetwood Mac from 1987-91.

For those of you who are familiar with Fleetwood’s blues band, this is the same lineup Fleetwood utilized for his 2008 live LP Blue Again! And for those of you who are not, you’re in for a treat.

About the new tour, Fleetwood explained: “Over my career I’ve been called a pop star and a rock star, yet in my inner heart, I will always be part bluesman. On my journey from blues to a life of rock ‘n’ roll, I’ve always remembered where I started.

“A lot of guys can play the licks, but Rick has the tone and that’s so important in real blues. … Any bassist who plays with me has big shoes to fill.”

Before heading out on his fall tour with the Blues Band, Fleetwood will be joining Fleetwood Mac for the band’s only 2016 date: the band will be rocking center field at Dodgers Stadium in Los Angeles. Scheduled for July 28, the show will be the main event at the team’s second annual Blue Diamond Gala.

Fleetwood has promised to deliver a set list of originals, covers, and tracks from Fleetwood Mac’s early years.
