American record producer DJ Khaled was booed off stage during his set at the Electric Daisy Carnival last night. The 41 year old experienced numerous technical difficulties and has now accused the festival organisers of sabotaging his performance.
DJ Khaled is one of the biggest personalities in the US music industry, and has masterminded a number of pop hits since debuting in 2006. A Louisiana native, Khaled is best known for his collaborative work with some of todays most popular singers and rappers; however, he has experienced criticism over the years for his apparent lack of musical input.
Last month Khaled scored his first international hit with the Justin Bieber led ‘I’m The One’ (feat. Quavo, Chance The Rapper and Lil Wayne). The song peaked at number one in over six different countries including the US and UK, and has since been certified platinum in the US and Australia.
The DJ has now come under fire after his disastrous set at Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas. During the performance Khaled was forced to skip and restart songs before eventually being booed of stage by the restless crowd.
Khaled posted this message via Instagram following the performance: “They tried to sabotage my sound so many times THEY could not get the sound right on my set and i still stood on stage wit no sound and when they got the sound to work they want cut my set short but I still rep for my people anyone else would walk off stage.”
His statement was mocked by fellow DJ Deadmau5, who tweeted: “They sabotaged my set! My sound isn’t right. I’m saving this one for later.”
He added: “1. Who the fuck are all those people on stage. 2. What the fuck is he doing? 3. EDC. 4. Lol.” DJ Khaled is yet to respond.
