It’s been a while since we’ve had news from the Dave Matthews Band, but here we go. The band has just landed top of the heap on Billboard 200 chart with its new album Come Tomorrow. This marks the bands seventh No. 1 album, Billboard reports.
This the Dave Matthews Band’s ninth studio release, and in its first week has shifted 292,000 equivalent album units, and remarkably, 285,000 of that amount comes in the form traditional album sales. Huge for any band.
In fact the new album has had the best week in sales this year for any artist, and it’s also become the biggest selling album in a week for a rock album since 2014.
Historically, before the release of Come Tomorrow, every single Dave Matthews Band studio album since 1998’s Before These Crowded Streets has gone straight in at the number one spot on the Billboard 200.
With seven seven consecutive #1 studio albums, the Dave Matthews Band have a place in history, and a feat that will be very hard to beat.
