Crue V. Metallica

You can’t keep a good feud down. The screaming match between Metallica and Motley Crue has kicked back into high gear after Crue drummer Tommy Lee sent out a tweet mocking Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich with a photo following appearances by both of the bands at this year’s Rock in Rio festival in Brazil.metallicamotleycruerio2015

The ugly war of words between the two rock n roll heavyweights dates back to the early 80’s when Motley Crue were the glam gods of Sunset Strip in Hollywood and Metallica was looked at as pioneers of the thrash metal scene. Crue went on to take Hollywood by storm, but Metallica was forced to pick up sticks and relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area from Los Angeles in order to find a more receptive audience.

We’ve been following the bad blood between the bands for a while now. In this particular exchange, Ulrich accused Motley Crue of using backing tapes during their performance at the 1997 American Music Awards.

Not one to mince his words, Nikki Sixx was fast to respond, “Dear, Sweet, Fat, Balding Larz (love the make up babe!). Taking your ever moronic soapbox position on a subject that’s NONE of your f***ing business has made you to be an a**hole as usual.

“Considering that me and Tommy know that your live tapes have been re-recorded, And ALL your instruments were repaired in Pro Tools (and had the balls to lie to your fans and call it a ‘live’ album)…People in glass houses should NOT throw rocks!!! considering you decided to take your bullsh*t to the press, we feel its only fair to return the punch!! You are such a poseur and thanks for releasing that ‘load’ of sh*t CD of yours…you made more room for us.”

After an unconfirmed truce between the bands, the war of words has once again gained momentum with Tommy Lee poking fun at Lars’s drumming ability. Lee posted a photo on Twitter that was created by a N.W.A biopic Straight Outta Compton meme generator, and shows the words “Straight Outta Tempo” over a photo of Ulrich. Oh, it’s on, over to you Lars. Check out Lee’s post below:
