Courtney Love has come out with her boxing gloves on in response to a new line of tee shirts that have been launched, the designers have used a Kurt Cobain inspired design for their upcoming collection and she’s less than happy.
The brand is called Vetements, and they uploaded a pic via Instagram of the shirt that was made famous by the Nirvana legend in a 1992 Rolling Stone photo shoot.
Cobain’s original shirt read: “Corporate magazines still suck,” with Vetements adding to the shirt “a lot” with nearly identical design and font.
Courtney Love commented on the post pretty sharpish and certainly didn’t hold back with her opinion. Love wrote: “You guys WHAT the FUCK? I hate being put in this position. You should know better!”
Last December, designer Marc Jacobs was sued by the band for using the band’s iconic smiley face design. The suit was brought to court for copyright infringement, with Nirvana’s lawyers stating that he allegedly used the band’s “Happy Face” logo without permission.
So what do you think, does CourtneyLove have a point, or is she cashing in one more time on the Cobain legacy?
