Britpop sensation Coldplay has announced 18 more dates for its 2017 A Head Full Of Dreams tour.
The added shows expand the band’s North American leg of the tour, which starts August 1, 2017 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, and finishes up on October 8, 2017 at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego, California.
Included among the big city stops are Vancouver, Edmonton and Toronto, which will be Coldplay’s first visit to Canada in five years.
The European dates kick-off the entire run on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at Olympiastadion in Munich, Germany.
Coldplay will tour in support of the winter 2015 release of their seventh studio album A Head Full Of Dreams that was distributed via Atlantic Records and Parlophone. The band recently released a 5.1 Surround Sound Blu-ray audio version of the record this past September 23 available at the band’s Coldplay Store through the band’s official website.
Rik Simpson, who served as the band’s co-mixer and co-producer on A Head Full Of Dreams, said in a statement, “The album was always conceived by the band as a dreamlike, kaleidoscope sweep of music so it was fantastic to be able to take it to its furthest conclusion with a trip into a surround sound dreamscape.”
