Check Out Cheap Trick’s Version Of Harry Nilsson’s “Ambush”

-

Chicago pop/rock kings Cheap Trick have recorded a track for the new tribute album for late singer/songwriter Harry Nilsson, who had huge hits with “Everybody’s Talkin’” and “Without You.”

The album, called This Is the Town: A Tribute to Nilsson, Vol. 2, is set to drop on June 21st, and Cheap Trick’s track is a rendition of a 1972 Nilsson song called “Ambush.”

You can purchase the song now as a digital download, and you can also check out the song at the band’s official YouTube channel.

The album also has a great interpretation of Nilsson’s track “Daddy Song,” recorded by singer/songwriter Martha Wainwright.

Cheap Trick is no strangers to doing Nilsson covers, on the band’s 2017 holiday album, Christmas Christmas, they included a cover of Harry’s 1974 tune “Remember (Christmas).”Also, singer Robin Zander released a version of Nilsson’s 1972 hit “Jump into the Fire” for his self-titled debut solo album in 1993.

You can pre-order ‘This Is the Town: A Tribute to Nilsson, Vol. 2’ now, and is also available on CD, digitally and for you vinyl freaks out there, as a limited-edition orange-vinyl LP.
