Bruce Springsteen was already going to the 72nd Annual Tony Awards this Sunday, he is set to be receiving a special award for his ongoing Springsteen on Broadway show. Now word has it that the man they call The Boss will also be performing.
The Tony Awards will air live from Radio City Music Hall in New York City, and Sara Bareilles and Josh Groban will host this year’s event.
There will be some serious heavyweights at the ceremony, Billy Joel will be a presenter at the ceremony, and it’s a who’s who when it comes to the other celebrities who’ll either present or perform, these include, Robert De Niro, Jim Parsons, Claire Danes, Bernadette Peters, Patti LuPone, Kerry Washington, Jeff Daniels, Tina Fey, Amy Schumer, Mikhail Baryshnikov, John Leguizamo and Christine Baranski.
Steven Tyler and Joe Perry of Aerosmith, and Cyndi Lauper and her longtime songwriting partner, Rob Hyman, have all been nominated for the Best Original Score (Music and/or Lyrics) Written for the Theatre honor, thanks to their contributions to the score for SpongeBob SquarePants: The Musical.
Springsteen on Broadway is scheduled to run until December 15th 2018.
