We’re all looking forward to seeing music right where it belongs, big, load, and live in front of us. One of the bands preparing for that is England’s very own indie icons, the Arctic Monkeys. Even though dates haven’t been released yet, rumors have it that the band will be heading back to their home town of Sheffield for three major outdoor summer gigs.
Tongues have started wagging because eFestivals report SJM Concerts has applied to host three dates at Hillsborough Park in June 2021. The application for the three shows that would happen between June 4th and 6th next year doesn’t name any particular artist, but word has it that the Arctic Monkeys will be the headliners.
Also in the application it mentions that there has been an application to Sheffield Council for “the provision of regulated entertainment” and the “provision of live music.”
Back in 2018, Arctic Monkeys were thought to have applied to the relevant parties to play gigs in their home town of Sheffield, which ultimately didn’t happen, but, let’s hope this time around it’s a go and the band get to play their biggest homecoming gigs to date.
Till then we’ve got the Arctic Monkeys – Live at Austin City Limits Music Festival 2018 in full below:
