Rockers Arcade Fire have announced that they will headline two European festivals. The festivals are the band’s only live dates scheduled so far for 2016.
The Canadian husband-wife team of Win Butler and Régine Chassagne, and their band, will headline Bilbao BBK in Spain and Lisbon’s NOS Alive in July. They join fellow NOS Alive Festival headliners Radiohead on the bill for the Portuguese festival’s 10th anniversary celebrations.
The festival, which takes place in the Portuguese capital between July 7-9th has a number of huge acts performing including the Chemical Brothers, Tame Impala, Hot Chip, John Grant, Courtney Barnett, and The 1975. Arcade Fire will be the headline act for Sunday night July 9th following performances from M83 and Jose Gonzalez.
For the Bilbao date, Arcade Fire will be joined on the lineup, which is still being finalized, by UK rockers the Foals. With the Pixies, M83, New Order, Hot Chip, Years & Years, Courtney Barnett and Wolf Alice already added to the bill, this is looking to be a festival not to be missed.
While these are the only two European festivals Arcade Fire has been confirmed to be playing in 2016, and with the band reportedly working on a new album since last year, we figure it won’t be long before Arcade Fire is back on the road full time.
