Alkaline Trio Drop New Music Following Tour Postponement

-

For fans of Alkaline Trio, the announcement of new music being released the day before their tour with Bad Religion was literally music to the ears. Then came all the canceled and postponed tours and for fans, they were left wondering if the band would still be releasing that new music they had promised. The answer is a resounding YES!!!

The Trio released new music at midnight as a three-song effort simply titled E.P. Alkaline Trio’s Matt Skiba took to Instagram to share the artwork and explained that it features a photo he took of his neighbor’s house.

He wrote:  “That was fast!!… I was told Thursday was the earliest we could get it out,” adding: “Thanks Russ! I took that photo and drew the shit. It’s my neighbors house across the street that changes colors. I hope ch’all dig it! Songs too. 😎 xoxo ♥️@alkaline_trio …it IS Thursday. Wow. As you were. #nothing…”

This is their first new music since 2018 and just like their album Is This Thing Cursed? the band returned to producer Cameron Webb.

“With the tour postponed and the current state of the world, we feel and hope that some new music will help people transcend the uncertainty and possible fear they might be feeling, if even for a few minutes,” Skiba explained: Adding how important it was to still release the EP given the current state of the world, he wrote: “Music has always had a way of helping us all cope with unpleasant times. We can only hope that ours can do the same for our fans on some level. We hope you enjoy the songs.”
